Company of Folk is pleased to announce the forthcoming fifth volume in the Folksongs of Illinois CD series. Previous compilations feature archival music presented by contemporary and archival artists from throughout the State of Illinois. Volume 5 focuses on Chicago since 1970 and the vast influx of immigrants from around the world. The compilation includes music from Colombia, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Chile, Hawai’i, Japan, Cuba, Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan, Puerto Rico and the Midwest, just to name a few. The CD will be released in the Fall of 2013.
