ART OF WORK: Jimmy Keane at Pullman

Join Jimmy Keane and Company of Folk Director Bucky Halker for a special program at Pullman State Historic Site on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 2 pm.

This program is part of the “Art of Work” project of Company of Folk for 2017 and celebrates the rich and diverse traditions of workers and working-class art in Chicago. The program is supported through a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Jimmy’s program includes an interview with Bucky about Jimmy’s Irish immigrant family and their involvement in the ironworker trade in Chicago and the story of music within his family and neighborhood.  Jimmy will also perform several of his favorite Irish tunes and a handful of important songs from Irish immigrant history in the United States.

Pullman State Historic Site is located at 11111 S. Forrestville Ave., Chicago, IL 60628.  Come early and tour a site that is important to the history of United States and the workers who built the nation.

Special thanks to Company of Folk’s generous sponsors:  The National Endowment for the Arts, the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events–City of Chicago, and the Illinois Arts Council Agency.
