Every year excellent artists from around the state of Illinois are recognized through the efforts of Company of Folk and the Illinois Arts Council. Some of these artists have received Apprenticeship awards through the Illinois Arts Council so that they can strengthen and preserve their traditions, others have been invited presenters at the annual Midwest Folklife Festival, and still others have been featured artists in the traveling exhibition From Generation to Generation: Folk Arts of Illinois.
